What an Inspiring Day!

Cara Hesse | February 28, 2014

Since rare diseases are at the heart of Genzyme, International Rare Disease Day is extremely meaningful to us. It motivates, inspires and connects us at Genzyme not only as colleagues joined by our profession, but as individuals with a desire to participate in a vast global community dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by rare diseases.

For the third year in a row, we are recognizing the day through a series of events revolving around a relay run between Genzyme campuses in Massachusetts. The relay idea came out of our desire to ensure that the sense of connection and inspiration that comes from Rare Disease Day reached as many employees as possible. This year, we are honored to have representatives from the National Tay-Sachs and Allied Diseases organization (NTSAD) and the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) to help cheer on the runners on a chilly but sunny day in New England.

For more information about the Rare Disease Day activities happening at Genzyme sites, please visit our Rare Disease Day website and read our corporate press release.
