We are very pleased to announce that three patient organizations -- from Spain, Taiwan and the United Kingdom -- have been selected to receive 2015 PAL Award grants. Proposals were received from patient organizations in 20 different countries and in more than 10 languages.
The projects range from educating the next generation of physicians about rare diseases to developing a “virtual rehabilitation” program to enable more MPS patients to follow through on critical physical therapy regimens. The External Review Committee spent many hours reviewing the entire pool of applications and examining the merits of each project. “All of the proposals reflected a commitment to collaboration. We all need to continue to look around and reach out to others working in the same space. Collaboration really is the key to having greater impact,” said Patricia Collins, PAL Review Committee member.
Thank you to all of the patient organizations who participated in this year’s program. We encourage you to check this site periodically for updates and information on the 2016 PAL Awards program. We are deeply grateful to our External Review Committee members – Patricia Collins and Pat Furlong – for the expertise, dedication and energy they brought to this program.
